Getting Started
Pokémon Legion Battle Arena is a free-to-play online Pokémon browser game inspired by the classic Pokémon Crater experience.
Explore a growing world, catch and train Pokémon, battle NPCs and other players, trade with the community, and work toward becoming one of the strongest trainers in the game.
New features, Pokémon, maps, and events are continually being added, so be sure to check the News section and our Discord for the latest announcements.
Yes. Pokémon Legion Battle Arena is completely free to play. All core gameplay features can be accessed without purchasing anything.
Optional supporter perks are a $5 one-time donation that helps cover server costs. They are cosmetic only (name color and badge) — never combat advantages. The game will always remain fully playable without spending money.
Click the Sign Up button located in the top-right corner of the homepage.
Choose a unique username, create a secure password, and select your starter Pokémon.
Once your account has been created, log in and begin your adventure.
Gameplay
Wild Pokémon can be found while exploring the game's maps. Walk around until a wild Pokémon appears and a battle begins.
Once the battle starts:
- Weaken the wild Pokémon.
- Select "Use an Item".
- Choose a Poké Ball.
- Attempt to catch the Pokémon.
If the capture succeeds, the Pokémon will be added to your collection.
While exploring the world, you may encounter special Pokémon variants. These rare Pokémon provide unique bonuses that make them more valuable than their normal counterparts.
Approximate wild odds once a species rarity has been selected:
- Normal — ~97.95% (most encounters)
- Ghostly — ~0.99% (~1 in 100)
- Metallic — ~0.99% (~1 in 100)
- Dark — ~0.40% (~1 in 250)
- Shiny — ~0.20% (~1 in 500)
- Cosmic — ~0.10% (~1 in 1,000)
- Aurora — ~0.04% (~1 in 2,500)

Variant bonuses are applied automatically during battle. If you are lucky enough to encounter one, catching it can provide a significant advantage over a normal Pokémon. Starter, regional, legendary, and paradox spawns use the same rarity order, but those species themselves are much rarer.
Pokémon evolve in different ways depending on the species. Some evolve by leveling up, while others require special conditions to be met.
Evolution methods include:
- Reaching a certain level
- Using Evolution Stones
- Trading
- Increasing friendship
- Other special evolution requirements
You can view a Pokémon's evolution requirements by opening its Pokédex entry.
Money can be earned through a variety of activities while playing Pokémon Legion Battle Arena.
Current ways to earn money include:
- Defeating wild Pokémon
- Defeating Gym Trainers
As new content and features are added, additional ways to earn money will become available.
Pokémon gain experience by participating in battles. Winning battles is the primary way to help your Pokémon grow stronger.
Once a Pokémon earns enough experience, it will automatically level up.
As Pokémon reach higher levels, some species may become eligible to evolve.
Some Pokémon display one, two, or three stars. Star ratings are assigned randomly when a Pokémon is encountered and represent that individual Pokémon's rarity.
This means that two players could catch the same species with different star ratings. For example, one trainer might catch a one-star Squirtle, while another finds a much rarer three-star Squirtle.
At this time, star ratings do not provide any stat bonuses or gameplay advantages. They exist purely to showcase especially rare Pokémon and give collectors something unique to hunt for.
Additional features related to star ratings may be introduced in future updates.
Battles
Battles in Pokémon Legion Battle Arena are turn-based. During each turn, you choose one of your Pokémon's available moves to attack your opponent.
Continue attacking until your opponent's HP reaches zero. If you defeat the opposing Pokémon, you win the battle and receive experience along with any applicable rewards.
Pokémon Legion Battle Arena is designed to support player-versus-player (PvP) battles, allowing trainers to challenge one another using their Pokémon teams.
Live PvP battles are not currently available and are planned for a future update.
When PvP is released, you will be able to challenge eligible trainers directly from the battle menu. Additional requirements and matchmaking details will be announced as the feature becomes available.
If you lose a battle, your Pokémon will faint and the battle will end.
Your battle record will also be updated, adding a loss to your Wins/Losses statistics displayed on your profile.
Don't worry—your Pokémon will be healed and you can jump right back into a battle whenever you're ready.
Trading
Trading allows you to exchange Pokémon with other trainers. To begin, list one of your Pokémon for trade or browse existing listings created by other players.
Once a listing is available, other trainers can send trade offers. You can review each offer before deciding whether to accept or decline it.
Before confirming a trade, carefully review both Pokémon being exchanged. Once a trade has been accepted, it cannot be undone.
No. Item trading is not currently available in Pokémon Legion Battle Arena.
At this time, only Pokémon can be traded between trainers. Item trading may be introduced in a future update as the game continues to expand.
Maps
You can travel throughout the world using the Region Map. Open the map tab, choose a destination, and enter the area you would like to explore.
Once you have entered a map, use the movement controls or your keyboard to explore the area, encounter wild Pokémon, and discover new locations.
At this time, all available maps can be accessed freely. Special event maps or limited-time areas may be introduced during future events.
Different maps contain different wild Pokémon. If you are looking for a specific species, the easiest way to find it is by checking its Pokédex entry.
Each Pokédex entry displays the locations where that Pokémon can be found, along with encounter information when applicable.
Some Pokémon may only appear under certain conditions, such as specific times of day or during special events, if those mechanics are available.
Account
You can change your password at any time from your profile settings.
- Open your Profile.
- Select Change Password.
- Enter your current password.
- Choose a new password and confirm it.
- Click Change Password to save your changes.
For your security, choose a strong password that is unique to your Pokémon Legion Battle Arena account.
If you forget your password, you can request a password reset from the Forgot Password page.
Enter your username or the email address associated with your account, then click Send reset link. If the information matches an existing account, you'll receive instructions to reset your password.
If you no longer have access to your registered email address or are unable to reset your password, please contact a member of the staff for assistance.
Rules
These rules exist to ensure fair play and provide an enjoyable experience for everyone. Failure to follow them may result in warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans.
- No cheating whatsoever. This includes automation, macros, bots, scripts, auto-clickers, or anything that performs actions for you.
- Do not modify the game interface. This includes editing the website, changing button sizes, altering layouts, or making any modifications that provide an unfair advantage.
- No account sharing. Accounts must only be used by their owner. You may currently own a maximum of three accounts. This limit may change in the future.
- No cross trading. Pokémon, items, accounts, or services may not be exchanged for assets from any other game or for real-world money. Players involved in cross trading will be permanently banned.
- Only one active login at a time. Do not keep multiple accounts logged in simultaneously across browsers, devices, or private windows.
- Report bugs immediately. Intentionally abusing bugs or exploits is considered cheating. Players who report bugs may be rewarded.
More rules will be added over time and are subject to change.
